Pedro Barrail

1964 - 
Nationality: Paraguayan

Barrail's hand-crafted pieces evoke the tradition of the Amazon as well as contemporary furniture design. His wooden furniture is sent to the Amazon, where it receives authentic burned tattoos from a secluded tribe. The tatoos represent the visual language and narrative of the tribe's history.

Pedro's collection includes a Breakfast table, chairs, bar stools, and foot rests.

Pedro's work forms part of private and public collections internationally.

Biography

Pedro Barrail was born in 1964 in Asuncion, Paraguay. In 1986, Barrail received his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Miami-Dade Community College, and in 1988 graduated from the University of Miami School of Architecture with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Barrail capped his education with a Master's degree in Architecture and in Urban & Town Design in 1991.

1997 Group show “Four Architecture Studios from Paraguay” at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.Won the first prize in a fine arts competition in Asunción, Paraguay. First solo show of paintings and objects titled “UNO” at Galeria Fabrica in Asunción, Paraguay. Designs and builds CASA H.

1998 Group show of photography called “Nuevas Miradas” in Asunción, Paraguay. Group show “Diseño Contemporáneo” of furniture and objects in the gallery Modus Vivendi in Asunción, Paraguay.

1999 Group show “Emerging Arts of Latin America & the Caribbean” in Paris, France. Second solo show of paintings and installations “DOS” at the gallery Lamarca Asunción, Paraguay.
