John-Paul Philippe

John-Paul Philippe is a painter and designer based in New York City, earning his BFA in Art & Art history in 1978 from the University of Oklahoma. He was born and raised in Oklahoma and spent twenty-three years as a painter living in London. From his studio in the heart of SoHo, his vision which began with his paintings has developed into a large body of work ranging from architectural and furniture design to murals, sculptures and handcrafted woodwork.

His work has been included in solo and group exhibitions internationally. In 2010, Philippe collaborated with West Elm to produce, The John-Paul Philippe Collection, including a range of sculptures, paintings, drawings and fabric designs. His work including large scale sculptures, metal work, paintings and textile designs are installed in Barney's boutiques from Beverly Hills to Ginza, Japan. His work is featured in the collections of both art collectors and museums, as well as highlighted in publications such as Wallpaper Magazine, The Wall Street journal, The New York Times, L'UOMO Vogue, and The Los Angeles Times.
